2,508 civil defense officers graduate

Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Naif yesterday officiated a ceremony of the Civil Defense Department in Arafat, near Makkah to mark the graduation of 2,508 officers.
Earlier on arrival at the military parade ground, Prince Muhammad was greeted by Lt. Gen. Saad Al-Tuwaijri, director general of the department, Maj. Gen. Suleiman Al-Amar, deputy director general, and other senior officers.
Addressing the ceremony, Gen. Al-Tuwaijri highlighted his department’s achievements since it was established by King Abdul Aziz about 88 years ago.
“The department has now the most advanced equipment and facilities and well-trained officers,” the general said. The graduates paraded in front of the minister with their equipment. They also displayed the skills they gained during the training program.

Saudi-led coalition foils attempted attack by drone near Abha airport

DUBAI: The Saudi-led coalition said it has foiled an attempted attack by an unmanned drone in Saudi Arabia's southern city of Abha, the Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya television channel reported on Saturday.
The coalition said it has destroyed the drone as it attempted to approach Abha airport, which was operating normally, according to Al-Arabiya.
