4-year-old rescued from Madinah well

A four-year-old girl who fell into a 60 meter deep water well was rescued by civil defense workers in Hinakyah in Madinah. The girl, Rihab Al-Ofi, was rescued through the use of thermal cameras and was given assistance in breathing by piped-in oxygen during the operation.
The rescue was observed by Prince Faisal bin Salman, governor of Madinah province.
Well accidents are a fairly common phenomenon around the Kingdom, prompting calls for steps to be taken to protect people from falling into wells. Last year, a civil defense worker in Jamoom lost his life after he recover up the body of a three-year-old boy. The rescue worker lost his balance after handing the body to another worker and fell down the well.
