RIYADH: Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein, who has been appointed director general of the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), said Monday that he would exert greater efforts to strengthen the agency in line with developments in world media. Al-Hussein, who was acting SPA chief following the death of Abdul Aziz Al-Ghamdi in April last year, thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan for vesting their confidence in him. He also thanked Culture and Information Minister Abdul Aziz Khoja for the new appointment. “I deem it a big responsibility,” Al-Hussein said, adding that he would work hard to further improve the agency’s standards with the support of its staff. |
