RIYADH: Newly appointed Saudi ambassadors to the Philippines, Canada and the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday took their oath in front of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah. King Abdullah urged them to exert their efforts in improving the Kingdom’s ties with other countries and represent their nation, religion and people in the best manner. Ibrahim Al-Saad Al-Ibrahim, Osama Ahmed Sanusi and Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Hassan are the new ambassadors to the UAE, Canada and the Philippines respectively. Sultan’s donation for Yemeni pilgrims JEDDAH: Crown Prince Sultan has donated SR504,000 to help 168 disabled Yemenis perform Haj this year. He also donated SR370,000 to meet the Haj expenses of 37 blind Yemenis as well as those who accompany them to the holy sites. Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Ali Al-Hamdan handed over the donations to Jumala Al-Baidani, president of Tahaddi charitable society, on Wednesday. HSBC honors Saudi disabled society RIYADH: HSBC group has selected the Disabled Children’s Association as one of the leading charitable societies in the world. Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of DCA, said the selection by the international bank was a great honor for his organization and a recognition of its achievements during the past 25 years.
