JEDDAH: The Health Affairs in Jeddah has established 14 fully-equipped medical units in all Haj Terminal halls at King Abdul Aziz International Airport here. The medical units have thermal cameras to detect pilgrims who have high temperatures. Thermal cameras have also been set up at the Jeddah Islamic Seaport. Samir Badawood, director of the Health Affairs in Jeddah, said his department has mobilized all of its manpower to serve pilgrims. He added that over 1,200 health workers are being sent to the holy sites, the airport and the seaport. Badawood said that the Health Affairs in Jeddah began preparing for Haj early by posting staff in Jeddah, Rabigh and Al-Leeth. Next Wednesday, hospitals in the province will stop admitting non-emergency cases as a precautionary to accommodate possible emergency cases involving pilgrims. |
