RIYADH: The outgoing Indonesian ambassador in Riyadh has been appointed Indonesia’s minister of social affairs. Before being posted to Saudi Arabia in 2005, Dr. Salim Segaf Al-Jufrie was the Sharia Council chairman of Indonesia’s Justice and Prosperity Party as well as regional representative director of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY). “Al-Jufrie’s consistent and untiring efforts to boost Saudi-Indonesian ties, especially in the political, commercial and religious sectors were among his well-directed initiatives, which also helped to create a greater awareness of the country in Saudi Arabia,” WAMY Secretary-General Dr. Saleh Al-Wohaibi said at a farewell party in honor of Al-Jufrie. |
