JEDDAH, 15 May 2007 — Ending their 2007 season of readings, the Poetry Group at the Jeddah Literary Club is hosting tonight the famous Saudi poet and human rights activist Ali Al-Domaini, who will be reciting a collection of his most recent poems. Al-Domaini is considered one of the main voices of contemporary Saudi modernist poetry. His published works include four poetry collections, a novel and an autobiography titled “Days in Cairo,” which was published in 2006. Al-Domaini was the cultural editor of the Al-Yaum newspaper in the 1980s. The reading starts tonight at 9 p.m. |
