The government has announced that it would soon make it mandatory for buildings to have thermal insulation in 24 major cities to save on rising energy costs.Municipal and Rural Affairs Minister Prince Mansour bin Miteb made the announcement on Tuesday at the opening of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Forum and Exhibition 2014, being held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.The 24 cities account for 80 percent of the Kingdom’s population, he said.
