The Lux Beauty Gallery event focused on the true splendors of Arabian beauty, fashion, glitz and glamor from May 29 –31 at the Hilton in Jeddah. The glamorous three days provided in-depth knowledge and expert advice in the areas of make-up, hair, skincare, fragrances, healthy eating, fashion and styling.
The gallery offered an opportunity for selected consumers to ‘Look like a Star’ by indulging them with Lux world of beauty.
Joelle Mardinian, Lebanese make-up expert and MBC TV presenter and her team from Maison de Joelle were there to provide consultation to consumers in the area of make-up and hair. Joelle also performed a live demonstration on stage for the latest hairstyling techniques and make-up.
Mardinian said that Saudi women were no different from any other women. They want to look as glamorous and beautiful as the women of Europe. Saudi women know what they want and like and Saudi ladies are truly trendy.
“I think women all over the world are alike. Arab women want to be glamorous, beautiful and they relate to Italian or Mediterranean women. They like to have bling-bling, long hair, extensions and long eyelashes. They are very feminine and beautiful. They know a lot about beauty, beauty surgeries and make-up,” she explained.
While talking about new trends in makeup Mardinian said the pastel colors are decidedly in at the moment, as her experts are moving away from dark black smoky eyes.
“We are still applying smoky effects, but with colors, like purple, strong blue, lilac, strong green. For hairstyles we recommend the chignon and funky chignon and the kawali snake with a chignon bun.
She advised women not to worry about their looks too much as nobody is perfect. Instead she recommended looking after what God has given. “Look after your hair and skin, always stay clean, do your hair and nails, so if at any time you meet anyone, you would not feel ashamed. Just prepare yourself so you always look elegant and feel comfortable.”
She thanked the gallery as they brought her closer to Maison de Joelle fans. She called it a beauty party with more than 500 fans.
Kamilia Kamel, one of the region’s most talented fashion experts who specializes in abayas and evening gowns, showcased her collection of different styles from body suits, long skirts, night gowns, party clothes, cocktail dresses, made from different feelings of material as from silk and crepe to cotton and velvet.
Kamel explained that she brought the latest brands from all over the world especially the European fashion to cater the needs of all Saudi ladies, from mothers to daughters under one roof.
“We are sticking to timeless pieces which can stay in your wardrobe for a long time. We help to build your wardrobe with pieces that are totally different. The fundamental pieces from all the brands can be found at our boutique,” said Kamel.
