PARIS: Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt will compete in the Lausanne Diamond League meeting in Switzerland on Aug. 23, event organizers announced on yesterday.
It will be Bolt’s sixth appearance at the Lausanne meet, with the world record-holder having previously raced over 200m on five occasions and once over 100m.
He will race one of the two sprint events but will not decide which one until after the London Olympics, where he will be defending the three gold medals he won in Beijing in 2008.
Lausanne organizers also announced that American Wallace Spearmon, Churandy Martina of the Netherlands and another Jamaican, Nickel Ashmeade, will compete in the 200m.
