RIYADH: The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) is planning to organize a Taiwan Products Catalog Show in Dammam on Sept. 26 and Qassim on Oct. 3.
“The catalog shows will be held with the intention of increasing bilateral trade and investment relations between Taiwan and Saudi Arabia,” W.K. Lai, TECRO’s Economic Division director, told Arab News on Wednesday. During the first six months of 2010, bilateral trade increased 76.45 percent to $6.55 billion, with Taiwan’s exports to the Kingdom valued at $399.53 million and its imports amounting to $6.15 billion.
He added that the catalog shows, which will be attended by about 300 companies whose products are globally competitive, will save Saudi buyer’s valuable time and money in traveling to Taiwan to meet with local suppliers. “For buyers who are not able to go and visit suppliers in Taiwan, the catalog shows play an ideal platform for them to find suitable suppliers of targeted products in an efficient way,” he said.
The shows in both regions will include IT products; toys, gifts and stationery, household and leisure equipment; chemical and medical supplies; agricultural products, food and minerals; paper and packing materials and rubber products; machines and tools; transportation related products; textiles and leather; fashion and beauty accessories; and construction and furnishings.
