TUNIS: The lawyer of a Tunisian man suspected of involvement in the US consulate attack in Libya says his client has been questioned by the FBI.
Anwar Ouled Ali told The Associated Press yesterday that his client, Ali Harzi, who has been detained in Tunisia on terrorism charges since October — was interviewed for over three hours by three FBI investigators on Friday night in a court in the Tunisian capital, Tunis.
He says the FBI interview was mediated through a Tunisian judge.
The questions centered on Harzi’s suspected links to the Sept. 11 attacked in Benghazi that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead.
Harzi was arrested in Turkey in October and repatriated to Tunisia, where he’s been detained under terror charges ever since.
