The last big event at Dirab Golf & Country Club before the summer break takes place tomorrow when a full field of 100 players tees it up for the 7th Annual Fuchs Open Golf Tournament 2013.
As one of the marquee tournaments at the club Fuchs Open never fails to attract a big number of golfers who will try their luck in the 18-hole stroke play competition with three divisions for men and one division for ladies.
The sponsor Alhamrani Fuchs Petroleum Saudi Arabia Ltd. is one in a line of corporate backers of DGCC which has extended generous support for the promotion of golf in Saudi Arabia.
The tournament will have a 7 a. m. shot gun-style start and the players will receive golf shirt, cap and a sleeve of Pro VI balls courtesy of Fuchs at the registration booth.
Korean golfer-taekwondo master M. S. Kim has won the Best Gross title for three straight years in this tournament but he will not be returning this time to defend his title after he turned professional when he participated in the MENA Tour event at Dirab late last year.
As most of the members will be on vacation let alone the hot weather there will be no big tournaments for the months of June, July and August. The sponsored events will resume in September.
