JEDDAH: The Council of Pakistani Scholars (CPS) termed Saturday’s Arab-Islamic-US Summit as “important.”
In a statement issued recently, the Council said the Islamic world is eagerly waiting the convening of the Arab-Islamic-US Summit in Riyadh.
The Council sees the outcome of the summit with much optimism and ambition and that the summit will tackle the major problems suffered by the Islamic world, the statement said.
The Council of Pakistani Scholars expressed hope that the summit, which will bring together King Salman with more than 40 heads of state and governments including US President Donald Trump, will find a solution to extremism and terrorism suffered by the Islamic world, the statement said.
The Council also expressed hope the historic summit will end the bloodshed in Levant countries.
“Time has come to find a way to achieve aspirations of the oppressed Syrian peoples, end the rule of Bashar Assad and rein in the Iranian and foreign militia in this country,” the statement said.
The Council of Pakistani Scholars supports the Saudi stance in convening this summit, which will build a new start in relations between the Islamic world and the West, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, head of the Council, said in the statement.
He said the Council hopes that Islamic leaders who are meeting in Riyadh in cooperation with the international powers, will find a way to curb Iranian attacks and interferences in the internal affairs of the Islamic countries.
The Council also hopes for an end to support of the Houthis in Yemen, the Syrian regime and killing of Muslims in Iraq so that peace and security be restored in this region.
Efforts of Saudi Arabia in bringing peace by ending terrorism and extremism are clear, the statement said.
The Council also hopes that leaders will find a solution to solve differences between the Islamic and Western worlds on the basis of a fair security and safety of Muslims worldwide, the statement said.
The Council expressed its support to the convening of the summit and fully supports the Kingdom in this mega initiative, which maintains its position as the one of key influential countries in the international resolutions, which is reliable in solving problems.
