Former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach set for Dubai visit

DUBAI: Miss Universe 2015, Pia Wurtzbach, is gearing up to visit Dubai on March 14, she announced on her Instagram page recently.
The beauty queen, who is the third Filipino to win the Miss Universe crown, said she would be visiting The Dubai Mall and meet with fans.
“See you for a meet-and-greet with the Filipino community. Beyond excited,” the 28-year-old who last visited the city in 2016 said on her Instagram page.
“I will be visiting Dubai next week! See you in The Dubai Mall, The Watch House, on March 14 from 6pm till 8pm,” she added.
Wurtzbach became an Internet sensation back in 2015 when she was part of the snafu by contest host Steve Harvey who wrongly announced Miss Colombia as the winner of the Miss Universe crown, before he backtracked and triggered a series of hilarious reactions online.
She is known for her humanitarian work and has, in the past, visited wounded soldiers in the Philippines. She is also a UNAIDS goodwill ambassador for Asia and the Pacific.
Wurtzbach is also starring in a Filipino movie alongside actor Gerald Anderson.
The romantic comedy, titled “My Perfect You,” will be helmed by director Cathy Garcia-Molina.
“This is another dream come true for me,” Wurtzbach posted on Instagram about the movie, which is set to be released in the country on March 14.
