Local residents called experts after they saw the big cat enter a building in Madhya Pradesh earlier this week.
“The leopard, around 8-years-old, had come from a forested area near here and caused panic among local residents,” Uttam Yadav, in charge of the civic-run Kamla Nehru Zoo told local channel, NDTV.
It injured two forest staffers and one employee of the Indore Municipal Corporation.
A forest official was injured as he approached the animal after it was hit by the first tranquillising dart, but the leopard pounced on him and tried to escape.
The animal was later captured after being hit by two tranquillising darts.
