April 26: The News report by Web Desk states that Pakistani and Indian forces, for the first time, will conduct drills together as both the countries have announced to participate in a multi-nation military exercise to be held in Russia’s Ural Mountains in August this year. The exercise, “Peace Mission 2018”, a part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), will focus on counter-terrorism operations in which eight countries, including Pakistan, India, China, and Russia will participate.

May 25: The Express Tribune report by Asad Zia states that as soon as news emerged that apart from a solitary dissenting voice, the lower house of national parliament had voted overwhelmingly in favour amending the Constitution to merge the colonially divided tribal areas into the mainstream areas of Pakistan, a wave of euphoria over the overturn century-old divisions spread through the region. Congratulatory messages started pouring in from across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) as the news spread through social and mainstream media. There were even reports of celebration in the streets in Parachinar.
