World Environment Day 2018 observed in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: The General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection (GAMEP) on Sunday marked World Environment Day 2018 at its headquarters in Jeddah.
The theme for this year is “Overcoming plastic pollution.” GAMEP President Khalil Al-Thaqafi attended the event, which was celebrated simultaneously in 10 regions across the Kingdom.
GAMEP Deputy President Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari said the Kingdom is taking all measures to protect the environment and for the conservation of its resources.
The annual report of the authority was also released on the occasion, which outlined the achievements and initiatives of the authority.

Saudi princess wins first place in King Abdul Aziz Camel Festival

Princess Sirene Bint Abdul Rahman bin Khalid Al-Saud fought off competition, coming first in the single Al-Dig (under 4-year-old camels) category at the third annual King Abdul Aziz Camel Festival.

The princess is the first female participant to take part in the Saudi camel festivals.

The third King Abdul Aziz Camel Festival organized by the country’s Camel Club runs until March 20 in the southern Sayahdah district of Al-Dahnaa.
