Saudi Post issues new stamp to commemorate Hajj 2018

JEDDAH: The Saudi Post Corporation has released a special memorial stamp for this year’s Hajj season, and for the first time has issued three riyals and five riyals stamps.
Saudi Post President, Eng. Mohammad Al-Jabbar said the corporation issues memorial stamps to document important events witnessed in the Kingdom in various fields.
He noted how stamps are a communicative means that reach countries and people around the world, and how it is important to highlight the Kingdom’s achievements, national efforts and historical moments through their issuance.
The stamp design was crated with the slogan of this year’s Hajj season, “The Kingdom embraces the world,” alongside a verse from the Holy Qur’an that reads: “And proclaim that the people shall observe Hajj pilgrimage...” [Qur’an 22:27]

Four killed in failed terrorist attack on interior ministry building north of Riyadh

Four heavily armed attackers were killed in a failed terrorist attack on an interior ministry building in Zulfi, north of Riyadh, Al-Arabiya TV said.

Videos circulating on social media show the dead armed with machine guns, bombs and Molotov cocktails.

The suspects who were on board a car tried to crash through the main entrance of the General Directorate of Investigation’s Center in Riyadh, but were intercepted by security and prevented the vehicle from gaining access into the compund.

It said the attackers had rammed a vehicle into a security barrier around the base in an attempt to gain entry.

Two gunmen died after opening fire on police, who killed them, one was killed as he attempted to flee, while the fourth attacker died as he tried to blow up an explosive belt,  pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat reported.
