Saudi Arabian Civil Aviation Authority praised for Qassim airport transformation

RIYADH: The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) was praised for its valuable work that helped transform Qassim airport from handling a limited number of passengers to more than a million passengers.
This came during a meeting between Qassim Gov. Prince Faisal bin Mishaal and GACA President Abdulhakim Al-Tamimi in Buraidah.
In 2010, the number of flights did not exceed 2,000 and the number of passengers did not exceed 200,000.
In the latest statistics provided by the GACA, up to the end of October, the number of passengers for both domestic and international flights has reached approximately 1.4 million.

Saudi civil aviation authority president removed from his post by royal decree

JEDDAH: The chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has been removed from his post.

Abdul Hakim bin Mohammed Bin Sulaiman Al-Tamimi was dismissed by a royal decree issued on Monday, Saudi Press Agency reported.

Al-Tamimi was appointed to the position in June 2017. No announcemnet was made on who would replace him.
