JEDDAH, 7 May — At a cost of SR60 million, King Faisal Specialist Hospital will install one of the best health information systems next August. Dr. Sultan Bahabri, chief executive officer, KFSH-Jeddah, and the chairman of the International e-Health Association, announced this during the current four-day e-Health conference here.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
“Our goal is to produce a global e-Health strategy that does not exist today,” said Dr. Bahabri, who added that the association’s objective is adopting standardization.
The second day of the conference included three sessions on e-Health in Action and three on Ethics. The conference also held an evening session in Arabic entitled “New Patients and Medical Knowledge on the Internet”. In addition, there was an evening session in English entitled “Planning e-Health Infrastructure.”
Later in the evening, over 90 participants took part in a desert tour. Sameer Komosani, from Samara Travel and Services, the organizers, said that the he wanted the guests to see Arabian horses and how Arabs lived sitting on the floor. He said the meal included traditional Arabian coffee with dates, mint tea and the special Saudi kabsa — rice with meat and spices.
