5,000 buildings licensed

MAKKAH, 22 February, 22 February — The agency for identifying accommodation for pilgrims has issued over 5,000 licenses to buildings, which can house a total of 1,200,000 people, said Makkah Mayor Fuad Ghazali. The licensed buildings, spread out all over the city, meet security and other specifications, said the mayor. The field monitoring teams are charged with the task of guaranteeing fitness of the buildings including security arrangements, electricity and water supply, cleanliness and hygiene, according to a statement of Makkah mayoralty yesterday.
