RIYADH, 28 November — The Information Ministry has stepped up a campaign against copyright violations by raiding shops, homes and warehouses used for duplicating videotapes, cassettes and CDs after receiving tips from copyright owners. The ministry said it had confiscated 292,261 media materials and 145 videos (used for duplicating cassettes) from 23 sites, a press statement said. The raids also covered six sites selling electronic games and 13 video shops. "There was noticeable reduction in the sales of duplicated materials in Riyadh," it added.
