EP Football Tournament inaugurated

DAMMAM, 5 April — Eastern Province Football Tournament was officially inaugurated last Friday by veteran footballer Jan Honac at Dammam Saptco bus stand football ground.

The inaugural match was played between Silver Storm and Blue Moon. During the first half of the match, Silver Storm built a 1-0 lead before allowing Blue Moon to get on the scoreboard. Captain K.V. Tajudheen put the Silver Storm in front with a beautiful goal. But the lead was lasted only for a short time. Blue Moon battled back to get the equal. Captain K.V. Abid notched the equalizer with his superb goal thus making the score 1-1.

At the last minute of the second half, K.M. Nazer shattered the dream of Silver Storm of winning the match when he scored second goal for Blue Moon. The match was exciting as both teams made number of attempts to increase the score. Next match will be on April 5, Rising Sun will play with Shining Star.

Four teams Silver Storm, Rising Sun, Shining Star and Blue Moon will play total seven matches began from March 29 through May 10. All matches will be played on Fridays only starting at 6:15 a.m. S.V. Abdurahman (C.R.P.) is the chief coordinator of the Tournament. Soft drinks were sponsored by M/s. Al-Rabie Saudi Food Co.
