JEDDAH, 20 April — Local challengers Al-Ittihad fought back after being a goal down last night to defeat Al-Nasr of Riyadh 2-1 to qualify to meet Al-Hilal in the final of the King’s Cup soccer tournament. Egged on by a vociferous home crowd at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium here, Ittihad came back strongly after conceding a goal in the 52nd minute when Ahmad Al-Jahwi found the mark.
They drew level when Faldo Mara scored from a penalty in the 80th minute, sending the Nasr goalkeeper the other way.
The issue was settled in favor of Ittihad two minutes from full time with Hassan Al-Yami on target, to the great delight of the home fans.
