RIYADH, 27 February 2003 — The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) — Riyadh Chapter will hold a series of accounting seminars for non-accountants starting tomorrow.
The seminar will be held at the Second Philippine International School (SPIS) in Suleimania District from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m for five consecutive Fridays.
“This seminar is part of our calendar of activities for year 2003 as community service to our fellow Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), and in line with the Philippine government’s reintegration program for returning Filipino migrant workers,” explained Rolly Bermundo, PICPA’s Riyadh chapter president.
The main objective of the seminar is to give participants the basic knowledge of accounting from the bookkeeping aspect to preparation of financial statements — an important tool for those who may wish to go into business when they return home for good. “This is open not only to non-accounting graduates but also to accounting graduates who have forgotten the accounting terminology for lack of practice, and this will also serve as a refresher course for them,” he said.
For reservations, interested participants may contact Bermundo at telephone number 416-1263 or 057-973008, Alex del Pilar at 406-7888 ext. 892 or 054-228054, Marlon dela Cruz at 464-1188 ext. 380 or 059-445402, Elmer Gironella at 248-4444 ext. 415 or 052-236646, Mabel Bagaoisan at 059-145120, and Ferdie Mar Abesamis at 054230370.
