JEDDAH, 26 February 2004 — Saudi Arabia and Sudan signed an agreement to set up a political coordination committee during a visit here by Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismail.
The memorandum of understanding setting up a “follow-up and political consultation committee” was signed by Ismail and his Saudi counterpart Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Saudi Press Agency said.
The agreement provides for “constant coordination between the two foreign ministries” in the interest of both countries and with the aim of promoting joint Arab action, Prince Saud said.
Ismail also met with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd and delivered a message from Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir, SPA said.
