JEDDAH: Crown Prince Sultan advised his sons and daughters to be pious and God-fearing and treat other people with love and kindness, says Princess Nouf bint Sultan.
“While our father was away in the US and Morocco (for medical treatment) he had been keeping in touch with us almost daily. This gave us a feeling that he was amongst us,” said the daughter of the crown prince.
Prince Sultan, she continued, wanted his children to love the country and its citizens. “He wanted every son and daughter of this country to participate in its development.” She said there was nothing surprising about Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s visit to Prince Sultan while he was recovering in the Moroccan city of Agadir.
“Our uncle King Abdullah is like a father to us and he covers us with his fatherly love and compassion. He is a mountain of goodness,” the princess said.
“King Abdullah visited my father to be reassured about his health, not because of any official responsibility, and it reflected the strong brotherly relations between them.”
Princess Nouf said she was happy that her father is famous as a humanitarian prince. “Charitable work is one of the hallmarks of Prince Sultan and we, his children, follow in his footsteps by spending a lot of money in charity.”
She said Prince Sultan wanted progress for Saudi women within the framework of Islamic teachings, which allow them to participate in the country’s development process and take up various responsibilities. “It’s from God. When God loves a person He makes others love him,” she said when asked why all people loved her father.
“Prince Sultan loves people and interacts with them like a kind father. He sympathizes with the poor and works to solve their problems. I think this may be the reason why all people love him.”
