Educational reforms

The recent budget favoring the educational sector, coupled with the keynote speech made by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah at the Shoura Council bodes well for the young and upcoming generation of Saudis.
Education is the key to a progressive and prosperous nation. The current mix of domestic and foreign scholarships will produce talented and educated youth. On the employment side, more emphasis needs to be given to the development of entrepreneurial abilities and the provision of self-employment opportunities, so that the years invested in education do not get wasted due to employment crunch and oversupply.

Report abuseIt has to be a proper blend. This reform can be brought about ONLY by those
educationists who are good and practicing Muslims.

Report abuseTo say it in a nice way: You have strange foughts! If the Qu'ran say the earh is flat and the natural scientiest find, that the earth isn't flat - then what? What's with the modern theory of evolution? God or Allah has not created the the world in six days or whatever...
You can have as a private man your religious belief what ever you want - to be muslim, christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Animist, Atheist and so on. But in science there is not at all place for religious believes only for exact measuring and clear and logical thoughts. So, because religious believes have nothing of them there is no place for them in natural sciences.
You live in this world with other human beings and for all of us we have the same time and space - we can not build in reality another world then it is. We all have to live and to die in this world! The natural laws are universal for all of us....
So - if you believe that "swines can fly", "the Qu'ran is direct from god", "The Prophet is a holy man with an outstanding moral" that's OK - but it's not true, as you can convince yourself easily, because 1+1=2 and nothing else. Isn't it?

Report abuseIf GOD did not spread it out how will anyone stand on it or ships sail.
4. Earth is geospherical in shape
The Quran mentions the actual shape of the earth in the following verse:
"And we have made the earth egg shaped".
[Al-Quran 79:30]
The Arabic word Dahaha means egg shaped. It also means an expanse. Dahaha is derived from Duhiya which specifically refers to the egg of an ostrich which is geospherical in shape, exactly like the shape of the earth.
Thus the Quran and modern established science are in perfect harmony.
"And We have spread out the (spacious) earth: how excellently We do spread out!" [Al-Quran 51:48]
