Houthis ignore truce, attack Najran, Jazan

Houthi militias and militants loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh have breached the truce initiated by the coalition forces to allow relief operations for the Yemeni people, a source at the Defense Ministry said Wednesday.
The Houthi militias fired mortar shells into Najran and Jazan on Wednesday morning. Rebel snipers on the Yemeni mountains close to the border also fired shots toward the Saudi side. However, no fatalities were recorded, the source said.
The Saudi armed forces did not return fire and have continued to abide by the truce. The attacks are a clear violation of the cease-fire, which would affect humanitarian operations if they continue, the source said.
