Salman highlights role of reconciliation committees

By ARAB NEWS

RIYADH: Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman on Wednesday emphasized the role of reconciliation committees in the Kingdom's various provinces to settle social disputes.

He commended the care and support received by these committees from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, and Prince Naif, second deputy premier and minister of interior.

"The support of Saudi leadership helped these committees carry out their mission effectively and contribute to solving many problems and conflicts," the prince said in a statement.

He said the order issued by higher authorities calling for the formation of reconciliation committees in all the provinces came after the success of the committees in Riyadh and Makkah.

He said the Riyadh committee has been working to settle social disputes for the last 30 years. He also praised Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal for his role in the Makkah committee.
