Six arrested for heists

By ARAB NEWS

JEDDAH: Police have arrested six men in connection with two heists where jewels and precious metals worth SR70,000 were swiped from houses in south Jeddah.

Jeddah police spokesman Col. Misfar Al-Joaed said the arrests were made after detectives closely monitored their suspects. The arrested men included Saudis, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis aged between 20 and 30.

Jeddah police also arrested two Saudis who impersonated a police officer and municipal official. They had demanded SR2,000 from a shop owner for supposedly not renewing his shop license in north Jeddah, Al-Eqtisadiah reported on Monday.
