Two arrested over Riyadh break-in, rape

JEDDAH: Riyadh police on Wednesday announced the arrest of two men on charges they broke into a home wearing masks and raped a girl while her family was away and then robbed the house.
The police didn’t say when the crime took place except to say it happened during Ramadan and the suspects were apprehended “in a record short time.” They were passed over to prosecutors.
Meanwhile, the court of appeals in Riyadh upheld the sentence of seven men found guilty of armed robbery in different Riyadh districts. Five of the men were sentenced to eight years in prison and 400 lashes. One man received a 10-year sentence and 500 lashes. The seventh man received six years and 300 lashes.
