JEDDAH: An 18-year-old Saudi man reportedly tried to deceive security guards at a mall in Jeddah by telling them that he is a prince and is one of the entourage of a high-ranking prince in Jeddah and that he wanted to enter the mall, the police announced Friday.

The police said the guards were suspicious and informed them of the case. The police said they arrived and arrested young man.

According to legal sources, the punishment for impersonating a royal family member is jail up to three years and a fine of up to SR50,000.

This is what happens when normal citizens are not allowed inside the malls. Can someone explain me why? Why can't people just go to the malls when they want. I feel sorry for the guy, though he shouldn't have impersonated the Royal Family.

Mr.Mohammed, do you know the way saudi youngsters behave??? ( I don't blame all but majority ) If they go to other countries and behave same way then they will be behind bars. First tell them to respect others and behave properly.

everybodys' opinion. if those young men intensions is to shop in the mall buy new clothes etc...why cant they done it during morning or during week days? common sense....because their intension is to harass women since women are used to shop during the week end...me and my family frequently visits various mall/s here in jeddah for shopping and groceries purposes and eat at the fancy restaurant every time we visit mall/s a bunch of young men roaming around and doing a stupid things such as harrassing women playing fools not only citizens are being harrassed even expats cannot escape of their ruthless behaviour that is why we decided to take a shop / make groceries during week days for precautionarymeasure but since we've learned that security at the malls are not allowing singles to enter the mall/s then i feel safe for my family no worries anymore that one of my children will be harrass again.

In my opinion, this is the right way to enjoy with your family as this is the only entertainment available, so no singles are allowed as the culture of our society is different.
