MEDEXPO, described as the only international and one-of-its-kind health care exhibition, spread across 5,000 square meters will be held from June 17-20 at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events in Jeddah. The event has received a phenomenal response with over 50 per cent of its exhibitors from international markets such as Australia, Brazil, UK, France, Germany, China, Korea, Netherlands among others, focusing on a wide array of medical sectors, including health, dentistry and ophthalmology.
The exhibition will offer an excellent networking opportunity for medical professionals, and provides a dedicated platform for decision makers to source the latest advances in healthcare technology, products and service solutions.
With an aim to significantly contribute to the Kingdom's vision in line with its Ninth Five-Year Plan, and in response to the high prevalence of lifestyle diseases including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, the MEDEXPO exhibition will focus on increasing awareness on issues related to healthcare, and improving economic and social development across the healthcare sector.
The exhibition will also launch a medical forum to leverage opportunities for professionals from across the healthcare industry to discuss innovative solutions and best practices, in a move towards developing sustainable healthcare within Saudi Arabia.
Samer Abu Ghazaleh, CEO of International Medical Center, believes this meeting gives the Kingdom's health care leaders a chance to meet and share their ideas on how to deliver quality health care to the Kingdom's 26 million residents. Abu Ghazaleh described the forum as a "meeting which brings together the countries key players from both the private and public sectors, gives us a chance to collaborate in developing world-class medical facilities that offer affordable and quality health care for all residents."
Among the prominent exhibitors at the four-day MEDEXPO is the Brazilian Health Devices, part of ABIMO (Brazilian Medical Devices Manufacturers Association), which includes companies such as Baumer, Ortosintese, MDT, Industra, Ibramed, Wama, and IBF among others, offering a wide range of competitive products from laboratory, aesthetic, dental products, radiology to orthopedic prosthesis.
ABIMO's participation at MEDEXPO signifies an important step toward its contributions in improving the Kingdom's overall health care system. In 2011, the Brazilian Health Devices sold projects worth $ 1.9 million to Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on ABIMO's participation at MEDEXPO 2012, Tarso Evangelista, head of Business Intelligence, said: "Our participation at MEDEXPO represents a great opportunity for us to tap closer into business and investment opportunities within Saudi Arabia — one of the fastest growing markets in the world. Our participating members are already exporting to more than 50 countries and we have targeted Saudi Arabia as one of our key markets in the years to come."
The Saudi Dental Society, Saudi Pharmaceutical Society and the Saudi Heart Association have also expressed their support as information partners for MEDEXPO, which is being organized by dmg :: events and MICE Arabia in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Saudi Food & Drug Authority, Council of Cooperative Health Insurance and Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
