Rosewood Corniche has launched a new initiative to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle for hotel staff and in-house guests.
The hotel overlooking the Red Sea hosted a ‘vertical marathon’ in the hotel recently to encourage guests and staff to get fit and indulge in a day of fun and sport.
The challenge was to run in a relay formation up the 17 floors of Rosewood Corniche to the unique rooftop pool and then back down again via a second stairwell to the finish line outside the hotel lobby.
The hotel’s kitchen team was the winner on the day, led by Executive Chef Daniel Echasseriau.
The only event of its kind in the Kingdom, the challenge evoked much excitement around the property and a sense of competition from hotel guests and staff as well as encouraged a healthy and active lifestyle.
“This is a great event for an important cause,” said Hans-Peter Leitzke, managing director for Rosewood Corniche.
“We take great pride in organising one-of-a-kind events and are extremely glad to lend our support toward health and sport. I encouraged our guests and staff to take part to create a lively atmosphere at the hotel and hope this is the first of many vertical marathons we host.”
Winners and participants received valued gifts.
Participants also received a free medical check and a lecture by a nutritionist on the importance of good eating habits to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle.
