CHRYSLER has officially announced the updates to the 2012 Jeep Wrangler. And as previously reported the biggest changes to the 2012 Wrangler are under the hood.
The 2012 Jeep Wrangler is ditching the old, slow 3.8L V6 for Chrysler's new 3.6L Pentastar V6 that has 285 horsepower (40 percent improvement) and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (10 percent improvement). The 2012 Wrangler also gets a new five-speed automatic, which helps the Wrangler get 21 mpg.
"Jeep Wrangler - the most capable and iconic vehicle in the world - has a new heart but retains the same soul for 2012," said Mike Manley, President and CEO - Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "Our new 3.6-liter V-6 engine gives the ever-capable Wrangler a completely new, more refined on-road driving experience - complete with more fuel efficiency, power and torque," he added.
The 2012 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 offers the ultimate in capability without compromise. Wrangler comes standard with an authentic Jeep style of life as well (you're going to love the Jeep wave).
The Jeep team delivers with a standard Sunrider soft top with a large rear window and body-color Freedom Top hardtop option on Sahara and Rubicon for a premium appearance.
Wrangler holds true to its 'Go Anywhere, Do Anything' heritage while still incorporating the unique design elements that symbolize off-road capability -removable doors, fold-down windshield, flexible top options, flared fenders, round halogen headlamps and seven-slot grille.
Niceties include available heated front seats, automatic temperature control with cabin air filtration, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, 12-volt accessory outlets, 115-volt (150-watt) AC power inverter in console, chromed auto transmission shifter and available automatic headlamps.
Additional features: Choice of cloth or leather- trimmed seating, technical aviation appearance on the instrument panel, sure to please circular air ducts, easy-to-reach center stack and a handsfree feature is available on all models
The list of Jeep Wrangler's Safety and Security features is as far-reaching as its capabilities.
