Neamaa Mostadama project
It is part of the Hefz Al-Neamaa initiative to collect clothes across the Kingdom for the needy and to promote a culture of cutting food waste through preservation and sharing. The project was launched last week in Makkah last week amid concerns that food waste costs the country about $10.66 billion every year. Shoura Council member Hoda Al-Helaissi earlier pushed for a concerted effort to address this concern, calling for "community awareness and media coverage at all levels to reduce levels of waste, starting with schools and homes.
