Marlon Adriano of King Fahad Hospital, Jayson Canares of Industrial and Aljon Oasan of Dumez Kings helped their respective teams score victories during the third week of action in the Siglakas International Riyadh South District Unity Cup Basketball Tournament 2012 at the Dunes Compound Filipino Community court in Olaya Thalateen area here.
Adriano spearheaded his team’s first win with 28 points while Canares and Oasan powered their teams with 22 and 17 points respectively.
Coach Ric Buban’s Industrial team had all the reasons to celebrate after recording their first win in a lopsided match with Khazzan 74-30.
Coming back from a defeat by 10 points during the opening day, Industrial with Canares, Manny Fronda, Jeffrey Dacasin, Ronel Reganet and Rogelio Galit at the helm played hard enough to post victory.
King Fahad Hospital of Coach Ruben Sangcap denied coach Jerson Dalida’s Recs 1 victory with a 79-68 triumph in their matchup.
KFH had led by 11 points thanks to the effective combination of Adriano, Francisco Bustamante, Hector Laurequez, Jay Lob and Joey Rosales. Despite the teamwork displayed by ace cager Tyron Lopez, who shot 37 big points, Ron Lopez, Rey Ferrer, Rejie Pasamon and James Lacsina Recs 1 still fell short.
Neophyte Aljon Oasan of Dumez Kings delivered his best basketball game and in a group effort with Darwin Calma, Larry Pergis, Lloyd Tolentino and Ariel Pascua paved the way to win 56-45. Senayah’s veteran cagers Arnel Camit, Gardinni Crispe, Bien Miguel, Yullysis Yalung and Lordan Terrejos tried in vain to gain momentum during the third period but could only narrow the Kings’ margin to 4 points at the end of the quarter 32-28. Edwin Garcia’s Dumez enjoyed 17-9 and 26-16 first and second quarter leads and continued their dominance till the final buzzer.
