Afroz stars in Tamer’s win over Deccan Knights in Premier League

A Fine all-round performance by Syed Mohammed Afroz helped Tamer edge past Deccan Knights by 11 runs during the seventh week of the Premier Division Cricket League, sponsored by ACE Travels & Tours and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association recently.
Tamer batting first scored 256 for 7. Afroz was the hero of the day as he scored a match winning 114 (10 x 6, 9 x 4). Sajjad (35), Ashfaq (30), Waseem (28) and Naveed (34 not out) were the other batsmen who impressed. Afroz 2 for 49 and Ahmad 2 for 46 did well with the ball.
Athar top-scored with 69 runs for Deccan Knights, which managed 245 for 7 in their run chase. Others who contributed were Inayath (53), Imran 34), Mazar (31) and Sohail (16).
Afroz claimed 3 for 33 and Waseem 2 for 51. Naveed, Khalid and Ashfaq took a wicket each.
In the other matches, Kanoo Travel routed Zinda Tilismat by 86 runs, ICC Irfan Basha scored a comfortable 61-run win over JPCC and Kanoo beat Ace Travels by 7 wickets.
In another match, Akbar of Kanoo Travel hammered a classic 159 against Zinda Tilismat to guide his team to an easy win.
Kanoo Travel batting first piled up 276 for 2. Zinda Tilismat were restricted to 190 runs. Ibrahim (79) was the other batsman who impressed. 258 runs were scored for the opening wicket partnership. Shadab claimed 2 for 55.
In reply Zinda Tilismat got off to a bad start with Javed and Irfan back in the pavilion bowled by Shahid in the first over. Zinda Tilismat could not recover from these blows and caved in tamely.
However, Saeed stood firm at one end with his stubborn 101. Yaqoob (28) and Sarfarz (25) were the other batsmen who put up some fight.
Shahid had 4 for 25. Akbar 2 for 33, Mehmood 2 for 30 and Haroon 2 for 42 did well for the bowling team.
Elsewhere, ICC Irfan Basha eased past JPCC by 61 runs. ICC Irfan Badsha batted first and put on board 193 runs. Raheel (66), Sadek (50) and Kashan (22) were the main run getters. Kaleem took 2 for 34. Rashid and Rafi had wicket apiece for 34 and 20 runs respectively.
JPCC were bowled out for of 132 in reply. Khurram was the highest scorer with 16 runs.
Nabeel 3 for 23 and Sadiq 2 for 12 did most of the damage.
In the last match, Kanoo beat ACE Travels by 7 wickets. ACE Travel was bundled out for 109 runs. Ayaz (21) and Baba Amoudi (23) did their best. None of the other batsmen reached double figures. Najam claimed 3 for 17 while Tabrez and Sami had 2 wickets each for 37 and 22 runs respectively.
Kanoo scored the required runs off 11 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Tabrez top-scored with 45 runs.
