Al Zamil Metal wins honors, regains lead in FTBJ-ICBL 30th Conference

JEDDAH: Al Zamil Metal delivered big time when it had to, winning Team of the Week honors and regaining the lead from Jeddah Lanes during the 16th session in the FTBJ-ICBL 30th Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes in Mossadia Plaza here.
A week after losing the lead to Jeddah Lanes Al Zamil raised its game to the next level and returned the top tally of 46 points that tied it with Cristal Global for the most number of Team of the Week titles at four.
Cristal Global also enjoyed a fine display to be on 45 as it passed Sky Freight-TFC (38 points) at third place in the team standings where the top four to advance to the semifinal will be finalized in today’s positioning round.
Jeddah Lanes could only muster 18 points, third to last on the day, in a big comedown from its Team of the Week award-winning performance the previous week.
Kulisap ni Moe pooled 37 points with Akiera Sato Bowlers on 33, D’ Barkads 30 and Avengers 27.
Saudi Diyar Consultants, Pin Slashers and Yanbu Sniper tallied 24, 23 and 20 in that order, while Al Watan Décor and Hidada Ltd. brought up the rear on 14 and 9.
The individual race for Bowler of the Week went to May Lourdes of Pin Slasher on the distaff side and Cristal’s Cesar Monares on the men’s division at series highs of 670 and 680.
The trio of Randy Mata, Merlen Pamintuan and Jessica Fuentes struck hardest for Zamil with rounds of 616, 609 and 566. Bonnie Garcia contributed two games (212-170) to the Zamil cause as did Victor Pagayon 186-208 and Ladio Gonzales 193-268.
In addition to Monares’ 680 Cristal Global received 579 from Ruben Grino, 578 from Alma Bacero and 524 from Giana Mata. Zaldy Bacero added 243-204 and Pancho Cuevas 267.
Sky Freight got a boost from the 629 and 628 by Oca Bernabe and Goying Salazar. From its ladies Sky Freight drew 584 from Babes Tiongson and 519 from Grace Dasas. James Galvan carded 186-207 and Rene Santiago hit 227 to round out the Sky Freight scoring.
Over at Sakiera, a back-to-back Team of the Week winner, Matet Cavite led the way on 603 that went wit 598 by Ed Labuac, 568 by Fuly Primo, 563 by Khalid Tailyoni, 143-176 by Marwan and 226 by Marcelo Manalo.
