It’s all systems go for the much awaited regional basketball event during this Eid holidays at the Industrial City Dawah Office (ICDO) court in Industrial City Phase I on the outskirts of Jeddah.
The two-day exhibition marks the first time in many years a full regional is coming to the Industrial City, a joint project of two major basketball groups in Jeddah.
Dubbed 1st ISA-FBL Eid Al Fitr Invitational Cup the event generated huge interest in this side of basketball town with three prestigious multinational companies namely Power Root Co. Malaysia (Ali Café), Enjaz Banking Services (Enjaz-Western Union) and Basamh Trading-Perfetto as major sponsors.
The Ali Café sponsorship was done through the courtesy of Franco Arive, Power Root marketing manager and Brand Manager Rafael Villacastin, Enjaz-Western Union through Enjaz Regional Marketing Supervisor Turki Osama Turki, Western Union representatives Chito Dela Cruz, Aileen Agraviador, marketing officer, Enjaz; Bilal Shahid, marketing officer for Pakistan and Hairi Diga, marketing officer for Philippines; and Perfetto through Industrial Sports Association President Eric Abrantes.
Featuring the some of the big names in Filipino basketball in the Kingdom this Invitational Cup set for Monday and Tuesday is also supported by minor sponsors Sky Freight Forwarders through GM Emy de Guzman, Butler Juffali Co. through Robert Maranan, and Jotun Paints through Raul Negradas.
The individual donors are Project Convenor Kirt Einstein, Alex Bedia of Compass Ocean Logistics, Habib Abubaker of Luna, Patsoy, Rene Ocampo of Hal Consultants and Omar Salvacion of SAM Foundation.
ABS CBN-TFC, Arab News, ISA, FBA, FBL and PBOC-Jeddah also support the event where host Jeddah will be represented by two teams namely Friendster and Shadow Lounge-Juffali. Laguna Lakers from Riyadh and Fahad Alireza Engineering Consultants (FAEC) from Dammam complete the four-team cast.
With Abrantes and FBL Commissioner Teng Laguialam in the working committee Ahmad Erandio, Gary Santos, Charlot Villafuerte, Ogie Nucum, Egay Magnaye, Rene Valle, Ken Anga Angan, Manny Manalo, Jason Jailani, Rashid Guelas, Boy Raras, Ruben Villarosa, Goody Viagedor, Pip Estacio, Janus Gella, Rey Bendol, Jeff de Leon, Abe De Guzman, Jun Sunido and Susan Dafun.
