DAMMAM: Altuwairqi White continued their winning run in the EPCA Twenty20 Challenge Cup Cricket Tournament, sponsored by SCC, when they scored a facile eight-wicket win over Aims Bin Delamah, during the third week of the tournament.
Altuwairqi got the required 182 runs off 19 overs. Riazwan Qayyum took 5-35 and veteran Jernail Singh 73 were the star performers for the winners.
Earlier, Aims Bin Delamah, batting first, made 181-9 off their stipulated 20 overs. Mohsin Ali slammed 89 off 49 deliveries including 10 hits to the boundary and three over it.
In another match, Kashif Riaz stroked a match-winning unbeaten 89 runs to help SST Blues score a comfortable seven-wicket win over Tamimi.
Tamimi batted first after winning the toss and put up a competitive 148 off 19.3 overs. Mohsin (45) and (Ibrar) 23 were their main scorers. Medium pacer Irfan Farooqui did most of the damage as he snatched 4-14.
In reply, SST Blues began their run chase in attacking fashion and totaled 149 for the loss off three wickets.
Elsewhere, Alghamdi scored a convincing 56-run win over Marooj KGC. Salman Butt top-scored with 47 as the winners posted 164-9 off stipulated 20 overs. Iftekhar (44) and Adnan (39) also batted well. Rizwan 4-27 was the most successful bowler for Marooj KGC.
Alghamdi restricted MKGC to 108-9 in their allotted overs. Shahid 63 off 34 balls was the only player who put up a spirited fight for the losers. Nadeem Butt and Iftekhar claimed four wickets each for 13 and 25 runs respectively.
In the first division matches, Khobar Badshah scored the biggest upset of the day as they beat DHL by nine-wicket. Batting first, DHL were bowled out for 131 runs. Moqeem Ali 4-27 and Waqas Ali 3-26 did most of the damage. In reply, Khobar Badshah achieved the target of 132 in the 12th over for the loss of only one wicket. Haider Abbas and Kashif scored 50 each.
Bin Delamah Adpco defeated Team Arabia by eight wickets. Team Arabia won the toss and decided to bat first but were restricted to 105.
Sunil (28) and Hussain (18) were the only players who put up some fight. Delamah Adpco’s Kamal Khan got 3-29. Tanveer and Neelaka claimed 2 wickets each. In reply, BD Adpco achieved the target for the loss of only two wickets off 11 overs. Nabeel Butt scored a brisk 50 runs off 30 balls.
In another match, Gladiators got the better of Al Fatha Friends XI by seven wickets. Batting first, Fatha Friends XI set the target of 150-7 off 20 overs. Aslam top-scored with 58 runs. In reply, Gladiators reached their mark off 19.3 over scoring 152-3.
Wasim Riyaz made a match winning 90 runs. Qaiser Siddique 44 also gave good support.
EI Plus beat Imrans Tigers Academy by 6 wickets. Batting first, Imran Tigers Academy scored 172-10 off 20 overs. Sukhe Butt (33) and Javed (32) did their best. Saleem captured 3- 29. Ehtasham and Mubashir picked up two wckets each for 38 and 24 runs respectively. EI Plus reeled off the runs and scored 173 -4 off 17.4 overs. Mubashir (63) and Shahid (55) were the top scorers.
In the fourth week matches, Khawar Sohail struck an unbeaten 60 to power Altuwairqi White to a crushing nine-wicket win against Team Abbasi. Batting first Team Abbasi set a target of 126-9 off their allotted 20 overs. Chasing 127, Altuwairqi romped home with five overs to spare. Opener Khawar Sohail scored a swashbuckling 60 blasting 7 boundaries and 2 sixes.
Gyptech Dolphin defeated Plus Arabia by7 wickets. Batting first, Plus put on board147-9 off 20 overs with Muazzam and Mubashir scoring 29 each respectively. In reply, Gyptech Dolphin reached their target off 18 overs scoring 148-4.
Khobar Badshah beat Al-Mojil by 6 wickets. Batting first, Al-Mojil scored 158. Khobar Badshah were homer off 17 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Team Arabia defeated Rising Stars by 19 runs. Batting first, Team Arabia posted 149-6. Rising Stars in reply crashed to 130 off 18 overs. TFT cricket club beat Aims Bin Delamah by 2 wickets. Bilal Shabeer scored 66 while Bilal Shah contributed 57 runs. Batting first, Aims Bin Delamah scored 216-7.
