Aljuraifani’s Art commended

JEDDAH: Leading Arab woman fine artist Nawal Al-Ajmi has impressed visitors with her unique pictorial representation of the poetry of famous Saudi poet Ibrahim Abdullah Aljuraifani.
Her fantastic paintings were showcased at an art gallery held in Jeddah on Tuesday. Speaking to Arab News, Al-Jafari said this experiment aims to address the new generation who are more fascinated in watching visuals rather than reading.
“It is also an inexplicable experience when the complex ideas of poetry is conveyed to the public in simple art forms,” he said while unveiling plans to take this experiment to more Arab countries by attracting many other fine artists to follow the example of Al-Ajmi. On her part, Al-Ajmi, a Kuwaiti national, told Arab News that poetic ideas are the basis for her visualizing the canvas art form.
“Through my paintings, I am striving to highlight the wonders of the Arabic script and the beauty of the language especially at art galleries held in European capitals,” she said. Al-Ajmi, who specialized in oil paints after training on all colors, has acquired a great ability to employ her colors in her fabulous paintings.
Al-Ajmi, who began her career as a fine artist in 1997, obtained a fine arts diploma from City & Guilds of London Art School.
