Audi and FC Bayern Munich have been on the ball together for the past decade. The annual vehicle handover for which the team and officials traveled to Ingolstadt was therefore a welcome opportunity to reflect on shared moments.
Goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, midfield star Michael Ballack and goal hunter Giovane Elber plus coach Ottmar Hitzfeld - these were the protagonists to receive their first Audi models in July 2002 - the S6 as sedan and Avant versions back then. About three months earlier, Audi and FC Bayern had announced their collaboration. This year, the partnership is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
“Audi and FC Bayern - this has simply been and will remain a strong team,” says Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of management of Audi AG. “Looking back on the joint decade, we recall many exceptional moments on and off the soccer field. We are proud of the long and intensive cooperation and already look forward to the future - on behalf of all Audi employees I wish FCB a lot of success in the new season.”
During the visit to the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt Coach Jupp Heynckes, (Bayern Munich) president Uli Hoeness, Chairman of the Board Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and the team of the German record champion not only picked up their new company cars. They also took out time to give interviews and to sign autographs for numerous Audi employees and fans before a friendly match at the Audi Sportpark was held in the evening.
