Ayaadi concludes ‘Together We Read’ competition

Etisalat's CSR initiative Ayaadi ended its “Together We Read” competition with the final prize distribution ceremony for winners of the fourth week in Dubai. Together We Read was launched on June 29, in collaboration with the ministry of education. The competition had three winners every week and was run for a period of four weeks in total.
Khawla Al Mualla, assistant undersecretary for the school environment and activities at the ministry of education, and Amal Al-Koos, Ayaadi's MD, handed out the prizes to each of the fourth week winners at a ceremony held at the ministry's headquarters in Dubai. Ghalyia Ali Saif Rashid Al-Habsi from Rafida Al Ansariya School for Girls in RAK won in the first level category, while Fatma Rashid Al-Shamsi from Al Qala'a Primary and Secondary School in Sharjah won in the second level category. Issa Ahmed Ibrahim Khalaf Al-Hamadi from Al Hossn School in Abu Dhabi was declared the winner in the third level category. All three winners received iPads for their winning entries.
Ayaadi's competition was aimed at encouraging students to read and engage in self-learning, while using their free time for productive activities and for enhancing their knowledge. The competition results were announced on a weekly basis.
Students participated in the competition by reading books and answering questions related to them. The questions in the competition were posted on Ayaadi's e-library website every week. The four weeks of the competition saw students from across the country and from different educational levels participate in the competition.
Al-Koos said: “We believe that Together We Read has achieved its objective of helping students take up reading and look at it as a fun and rewarding activity.”
Ayaadi, launched in 2011 by Etisalat, is the platform for a national social project that seeks to achieve significant objectives.
