SHETLAND ISLANDS: A giant fish weighing more than 30kg has been caught off the Shetland Islands. James Isbister caught the 6ft-long creature just off Muckle Flugga, reports BBC News.
Isbister is awaiting confirmation from authorities regarding its record-breaking status. The fish is currently taking up all the space in his mother's freezer.
Recalling the catch that happened on Saturday, Isbister said: "Muckle Flugga is renowned for big fish. It took about 20 or 30 minutes. "I knew it was a big fish but I didn't realised it was that size — I am 6ft 5in and it's as big as me." Isbister added: "I am a local celebrity at the moment."
