The Annual Sports Day of Class III-V boys’ section of the International Indian School, Jeddah, was held recently at the school ground in a frolicsome atmosphere. The event was marked by a string of spectacular performances by the little champs of III-V Block, who were brimming with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
The opening ceremony was graced by Principal Syed Masood Ahmed, vice principals of boys and girls section and other senior staff members.
It began with a recital of verses from the Holy Qur’an followed by its translation. Master Adnan Gulam, the head prefect of III-V Block welcomed the gathering. The march past by the houses exhibited discipline of students. The sports secretary administered the solemn oath to the house captains and the participants.
The principal officially declared the sports meet open, and released balloons symbolizing the vibrant hopes of young sportsmen. The sports torch was carried by the sports secretary and the house captains. A drill display presented by the students that kept the spectators spellbound.
The long awaited athletics events were held which included track events and other innovative events like getting ready for school, dressing up a clown, caterpillar race etc. The boys participated enthusiastically in all programs.
The prizes were given away by the principal, vice principals and the other officials. The Red House bagged the overall championship followed by the Green House and the Blue House bagging the first and second runners-up trophies respectively. The individual champions were Bilal (Red House), Mishal (Red House) and Master Nabeel Mohamed (Green House) in A, B, and C groups respectively. The event came to an end successfully with the vote of thanks, leaving thrilling memories in the hearts of each and everyone present.
