Blame game over border killings

I would like to take this opportunity to tell Sushrut Patil that it is not Pakistan that needs to be taught a lesson, in fact it’s the other way round. India definitely needs a reality check. Let me state a few facts: Firstly, being an Islamic state, Pakistan cannot resort to such a horrid crime.
I firmly believe that it’s the doing of the Indian authorities to blame Pakistan and serve its vested interests.
Secondly, two Hindu fanatic political groups, namely, the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party have shown the heights they can go to seeking revenge. The sending back of Pakistani hockey players who had gone to India for their scheduled sports events puts their democracy to shame.
The atrocities committed by Hindu majority backed by the government in Gujarat against Muslims are still fresh in people’s minds. Not only that people in Kashmir face death every day at the hands of the Indian military. How ironic is that the whole Indian media and masses come together to protest for the rape of a young Hindu girl but no one raises a voice over the daily abuses of women in Indian-held Kashmir.
Thirdly, at least Pakistan had the decency to apologize for the Line of Control killings regardless of whose fault it was, the Indian government never bothered to do so. On top of this, the Indian media goes on to make things worse by being biased and negative about Pakistan.
Lastly, let’s not forget all is fair in love and war. If India wants a war, so be it. — Umber Atif, By e-mail
