Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ), an initiative of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives (ALJCI), provided hundreds of job opportunities for young males and females during “Liqa'at” exhibition, which was organized by the Ministry of Labor in the Eastern Province.
During the exhibition, approximately 774 jobs in several professions were provided that matched the qualifications of female job seekers.
BRJ revealed that it has created 23,062 job opportunities during the period of January-May of this year, an increase of seven percent compared with the same period of 2011.
Rola Basamad, female employment director at BRJ in Saudi Arabia, said, “BRJ officials met hundreds of male and female job seekers at the BRJ booth in the exhibition. The job seekers were then told about jobs that were available in the market.”
Basamad said that there were several job opportunities available for females, including nursing, customer service employees, showroom managers, saleswomen and security guards.
Companies that cooperated with BRJ included Al Mawarid Trading Co., Al Shai'a, Al Hokair, Al Kawadir, Nask, Panda, Al Essa, Al Khushaim, Al Doha Polyclinic and Al Turkey Concrete.
Basamad said 627 females and 259 males have been employed in the Eastern Province during the January-May period, and 3,115 job opportunities were on offer throughout the Kingdom.
Females were preferred for call center jobs as they proved their abilities and skills in this job while working hard with diligence and politeness. Such factors motivated companies to prefer female staff, taking into consideration that such jobs require less movement, but need focus and discipline.
Females were in demand for jobs as cashiers and production workers. The companies, after finding the female staff dedication, discipline and skills in these jobs have improved the employment offers and also considered their demand for safe work environment.
Basamad said more practical training was required for female staff and this could be done through specialized training courses.
BRJ also supported the productive household program, small projects program, taxi ownership program and truck ownership program, in a move that supports young males and females who are seeking job opportunities others than those provided by the program.
Basamad said that BRJ booth in the exhibition interacted with representatives of companies who are seeking qualified human power.
She said that BRJ booth in the exhibition was not limited to providing job opportunities, but it included providing support to small projects, franchise projects and productive household projects.
BRJ also received requests from companies for candidates, who have qualified at BRJ Training Institute.
